new trail tractor |
|
We are now the proud owners of a small Kubota tractor with a front push blade and a rear 3 point hitch mower. Our survey on the motion to purchase the tractor that was posted showed favourably in the club purchasing this peice of equipment. I think we found a nice peice of equipment that will help build and maintain our trails. Now that we have two mowers we are going to see which one works better behind the tractor and sell the other one. We are looking at purchasing a scraper box to have on the back of the tractor to level the bad sections on the trails. I think this is a very good investment for us and should we decide down the road to go a bit bigger this tractor should hold it's value. Thanks to Jim and Andrew for taking the time to find it and going to get it.Now if we can just get Andrew motivated we can build some trails LOL . We'll get some pics posted this weekend of it ,or come out to the Innerkip parade Saturday and you can see it.

yeah yeah yeah...so i'm slacking......wow...i sure hope Arnold gets back soon....this Kevin is a bloody slave driver.................LOL
It's great the club jumped behind Jim and myself on this, kudos to Jim for finding it and i really feel this machine will make a huge impact in the way the club keeps the trail network usable and in good shape for us all to use. After hepling to create a new trail then jumping in feet first and creating trail 113 on our own...I soon learned it's a lotta work and all that time our existing trails were also in need of work...luckily for us all they have been just too darn wet to do anything with, but now that there drying up well This little machine is going to play a vital part in getting them back to the operational state they need to be in and go a long way is helping us create new trails within in our existing infrastructure.
The biggest impact I feel this equipment will have is on the local landowners, when they see the new GLATV Trail Maintenance Tractor trundilng down the road with a trailer full of goodies to either repair or enhance the trails, they will see that our club is in this for the long haul and is fully prepared to look after thier land as well as allow us as ATV riders to utilize it.
Again, huge thanks to Jim for finding this lil gem and for the time hes put in from first going to see it to going to pick it up and haul it back to kip, and also to the club for supporting this purchase.
I'm really looking forward to seeing it take its place in the parade tomorrow!!!
Andrew & Larissa
PS...I'll be back at the trails after the parade tomorrow........i promise.......i'll make up the hours.....
PPS....if we catch Jim on the trails with the tractor can we ticket him......it doesn't have a permit..........

Jim,
Great job on finding the tractor! Gonna save wear and tear on our machines plus let us maintain/build our trails.
